Choose Box Style
We use the latest AG/CAD Kasemake software to draw up designs. Whether it is a size only carton sample or a box designed specifically for your product, we do it all at our manufacturing plant in Nelson. This enables our customers to approve the box before a production run.
We also manufacture cardboard box styles dictated by the world renowned FEFCO (European Corrugated Packaging Association). Browse through the styles of FEFCO cartons and choose the perfect style for your bespoke cardboard box!
Standard Boxes 0201
This is the most common Fefco style used within the Packaging Industry
The box will be manufactured to suit the specific length, width and depth of your product to ensure an excellent fit. It does not require tooling to produce (except for extremely small cases). We can produce packing cases in a wide range of fluting profiles (B, C, E, BC, EB and others). This means we can tailor the box to offer the right amount of protection for your product at the right price.
The cheapest option is to have a glued case manufactured plain in a brown board (simple, very effective and easiest on the bottom line). We can also produce in Mottled or White board too and as alternative to glue we can stitch (staple) the cases. The addition of print to brand the boxes is an inexpensive way of increasing brand awareness and offers a more professional finish when arriving with your customer.
Once manufactured each bundle is strapped and palletised. The boxes are flat packed, simply pop them up and close using the flaps provided, taping to seal
Flutes
Corrugated board is the most widely used packaging medium for boxes, divisions and fittings. It provides a rigid, recyclable container with cushioning, puncture-resistance, stackability and has a good printing surface, making it suitable for primary, point-of-sale and transit packaging as well as for display stands.
It can be specified with various flute forms and paper grades to suit the application. It can be made moisture resistant, suitable for freezing and cold storage.
The most common single wall board is B flute, Double wall board gives a combination of protection, high stacking strength and good print surface. Single wall C flute with heavy liners can be an alternative to Double Wall.
E Flute offers an improved print surface and is excellent for small mailer packs. EB flute gives double-wall protection.
Printing
We do flexo, litho and digital in-house. Flexo is the most cost-effective way to produce printed cardboard boxes. Adding pennies rather than pounds to the box cost it is the ideal solution. Our machine is capable of printing up to 2 colours in one pass. 4 individual colours as a maximum with 2 passes.
Our machine operators will QC the print at the start and during the run to ensure that it matches your approved artwork. In addition, we have a photo-spectrometer to ensure accuracy on the colour consistency.
Rotary Die Cutting
Rotary die cutting is a special kind of die cutting that uses a cylindrical die to cut shapes out of material. It moves around and around in a circular motion and has blades to cut out the desired shape around the entirety of the cylinder
These are usually for Large die cuts which will not fit on the flatbed.
Flat Bed Die Cutting
Flat Bed Die cut boxes are highly customizable corrugated cardboard boxes designed to fit any shape, size, or need. They are known as die cut boxes because they are cut from plain sheets of corrugated material on a machine known as a die press (or die cutter)
